Raja Seat is a well-known tourist spot whose name means "Seat of the Kings" Madikeri, one of the popular places to visit in Coorg, is a lovely town with a pleasant and calming atmosphere.

This spot is called Raja's Seat because it was where the kings of Coorg would come to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful sights that are great to capture on camera.

It is the perfect place to relax and cherish the scenic beauty of the location. The lush green plants, serene surroundings, and sun shining warmly add a perfectly good scene. The spot has a beautiful park, and on the left side of it is a Gandhi Mantap. Gandhi Mantap is a place where the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi are kept.

There is a play area for kids, making it a great spot for families to visit. The toy train around the raja seat fascinates children as well as adults; on this train, you can enjoy beautiful scenery and mouthwatering snacks.

What is Raja's Seat in Coorg famous for?

Raja's Seat is about 1 km west of the Madikeri bus stand. Popular lore claims that Kodava kings and their consorts spent evenings in the fine park here. It is easy to see why: dramatic views of an orange sun dipping behind the mountains can mesmerize royals and commoners. This spot has a view of green mountains and valleys, with shiny roads and rivers in the distance.

Historical Significance of Raja Seat Coorg

Raja's Seat, which means "the Seat of the King," is a building made of bricks and mortar. It has four pillars that are connected by arches. This place was used by the Kings and Queens of Kodagu, who ruled Karnataka for more than 200 years, from 1600 to 1834.

The Seat was a great spot to enjoy a stunning view of the valley and the distant mountains. It faced west, making it a perfect spot to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Because of this, kings and queens often watched the sunsets from this place, surrounded by the green fields and refreshing air of Coorg.

The best time to visit Raja Seat Coorg

The best time to visit Raja's Seat is from October to March, when the flowers grow and the garden looks prettiest. It's best to go during the week because weekends get busy. Go in the early morning or evening to see the sunrise or sunset.

How to Reach Raja's Seat Coorg?

Through the Road: Raja's Seat is in Madikeri, which is easily reached by road. To get to Madikeri, you can take a straight bus from either Karnataka or Kerala. You can also take buses from Coorg to Bangalore, Virajpet, and Mysore. If roads are your favorite way to get around, hired taxis are the second-best option. Once you get to the KSRTC bus stop in Madikeri, Raja's Seat is only a 5-minute walk away.

By Rail: If you plan to take the train to Raja's Seat, you might be disappointed to learn that no railway stop exists here. The closest train stops are in Hassan, Kannur, and Kasaragod. The distance between Madikeri and the stops in Mysore and Mangalore is about 140 km.

By Bus: Many buses routes link Madikeri to other towns. The bus station that is closest to this is Shivamogga Bus Terminal. After that, you need to get on a local bus and get off at Madikeri's Raja's Seat Bus Stand. Make sure you look at the bus route and timing before you start your trip to get a good idea of when and how often the buses run. It's important to keep in mind that this bus rate is low.

•    Go to the “Tours” section on the website and click on it. You can see a drop-down menu where different tour packages will show. Click any one of them according to your wish and then a webpage will be redirected. You can select the “Starting City” and the “Trip Duration” in order to know the price for your trip. You will get a lot of options of tour packages which you may select according to your will. 
•    There will be some more options which you need to answer correctly in order to get the final price of your tour.

No. Someone trying to book a tour package does not need to make full payment. There are three options to make the payment - 30%, 50% or 100%. One can choose any of the above-stated options to book the package.

30% option - Initially customer has to pay 30% for the booking confirmation. Within 24 hours hotel vouchers will be shared. Upon the hotel vouchers receipt, the customer has to release another 20% of the payment. The remaining 50% amount should be released one day prior to your travel date.

50% option - Customer has to pay 50% for the booking confirmation. Within 24 hours hotel vouchers will be shared. The remaining 50% amount should be released one day prior to your travel date.

100% option - Upon 100% of the payment, there is no due from the customer. We will be happy to provide service.  

•    After the payment is successful the customer/client will find an auto-generated invoice. Apart from that,  a confirmation mail and message will be sent to the client’s mail id and number respectively from the assigned tour manager.

•    If a client is booking on behalf of a family member or a friend, then he/she will have to have the basic details about the traveler. Like the starting city of the journey, desired length of the trip, contact details, and some more. It is very easy and convenient to book on behalf of someone.
